A Great Conference & Selling books

I am in downtown Chicago right now on the 8th floor of the Holiday Inn. I am up here for the Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization national conference. The conference started Thursday afternoon and ended about 5:30pm today. Overall, I thought the conference was wonderful. It was good to see friends such as Michael Simmons, Troy Byrd, and Michael McNyne again.

The initial run of 50 copies of my book came in on Monday, just in time for the conference. I’ve sold about 10 before the conference and about 35 while here at the conference. I’ll be spending the next week going over the book one more time before I print about 500 copies for the official launch of the book November 17.

The highlights of the conference for me include my speech today in front of about 60 people, the elevator pitch competition yesterday in which I presented Broadwick, and receiving two awards for the Carolina Entrepreneurship Club.

At Broadwick we are up to 59 customers now. My Vice President of Marketing for Broadwick, Josh Carlton, is now also working for my other company, Virante, doing a search engine optimization campaign for my new client in Houston that sells a colon cleansing product. We’re currently building links to www.colon-clease-constipation.com as part of the process of obtaining a #1 ranking for colon cleansing and constipation.

Well I am exhausted. Off to bed now. Flying back to Raleigh-Durham in the early afternoon. Lots of work to do when I get back.
