Enjoying Entrepreneurship

It’s been a while since I’ve checked in. I’ve been working hard on building Broadwick. We are now up to 95 customers. David is starting to do well building partnerships (closed one with First Place software today) and Josh has been working hard building affiliates and handling customer support and prospect inquiries. We are in the process now of hiring a full time developer and raising some debt capital so we can expand our infrastructure and build out the features and ability of the software in preparation for two large partnerships in the pipeline.

As we have gone about raising this debt capital I have learned quite a bit about different financing options (credit lines, credit cards, etc.). We have also struggled with the question of debt vs. equity. At this point, we feel debt is ‘cheaper.’

I have moved more toward being a manager and delegater than a worker. I have also learned the value of outsourcing work through elance.

I have one big client for Virante right now and two to three smaller ones that keep me alive cash flow wise while I build Broadwick.

I am enjoying the experience of being a manager, dealing with the books, hiring, top partners, and strategy.

It is nice to be making progress with the business and have cashflow (and people) to manage again.

I haven’t been adding to this blog often because I can’t truly express myself and reflect on my day and plan for the upcoming days in the way that I like to. It seems that a private legal pad will always be better for such a thing.
