Giving is a mental stimulant that shocks the very foundation of our natural way of thinking. You see, as human beings, it is natural to think about ourselves and disregard others. Don’t believe me, ask a mother who has a crying baby who’s hungry how much that child cares about her beauty rest. It’s totally natural and mammal-like to be concerned about self…

But

What separates the human being from other creatures is not our desire for food…for even the lion gets hungry and will desire a meal. It’s not the desire for shelter and safety…for even an eagle knows to build a nest in a safe location where predators cannot reach them. Surprisingly, human beings cannot even take pride in our wisdom to save today so we won’t be without tomorrow…for even a tiny ant or the rambunctious squirrel knows during the summer months that winter is coming and even they know the importance of preparation.

So what separates us? It’s our ability to give-not out of obligation-but out of intelligence. Giving is not sharing. Sharing is good and its result is harmonious reciprocity where a two-way connection is formed for sending things and receiving, but giving is an act that goes against natural law. True giving is so unnatural that the handful of people who really know how to give get looked at as if they are aliens from another planet!

True givers get asked questions like these all the time. When you learn the art of giving-cause is an art form-there are neural connector in the brain that come to life that would have otherwise remained dormant. Scientist say we only use a tiny fraction of our brain and yet we build skyscrapers, fly heavier that air planes and communicate wirelessly; can you imagine what would be achievable at half-brain use? Giving awakens that dormant portion of the brain that has never been used because how much brain power does it take to be egocentric.

The handful who have done great things to change the course of history have had to at one point or another get their brains to think beyond themselves. Giving, true giving that is, is the most powerful tool in the life of the over achiever because it shifts their thinking from “how will this benefit me” to “how will this benefit humanity”

Give and it will be given back to you, pressed down, shaken together and running over will men give to you!

Google didn’t start because to young nerds wanted to build a Billion-dollar media empire…NO! It started because those kids wanted to GIVE the world a way to navigate the complex world wide web.

McDonalds did start with a Billion dollar plan to franchise…NO! It started with a man who believed he could GIVE working class families a cheap alternative for eating out.

Get your mind off of you and get your thinking lined up with ways to GIVE, when you do, things happen and you can change the entire world!
