As a follow-up to the last post on TED, I learned today that TED is having a Global Conference called TEDGlobal at the Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge in Arusha, Tanzania June 4-7, 2007 to bring together the top world innovators, thinkers, doers, and leaders to discuss the future of Africa. The speakers look amazing and the conference center is right at the edge of Mt. Kilimanjaro.

TED’s sponsors made available 100 fellowships to attend the conference free of charge if you are unable to afford the $2,800 cost and feel you have an important role in Africa’s future and a unique perspective to bring to the conference.
If you are passionate about the future of Africa and care about the related issues of poverty, education, health care, AIDS, economic development, nutrition, hunger, grassroots entrepreneurship, or technology I’d encourage you to consider attending. You can submit an application to register directly if you have the ability to pay, or apply for the fellowship should you need assistance.
The essay question: In no more than 500 words, please describe your background, some key achievements, your reasons for seeking the fellowship, and how you hope to be part of Africa’s future.
