I've been at WebmasterWorld's conference PubCon in Las Vegas the past few days. As with Altitude, the content is fairly good but the relationships that can be built here are what's most valuable. Everybody here just happens to have a need for iContact.
Here's Virante's CTO Russ Jones and me with Matt Cutts of Google inside the Wynn on Tuesday night...
Last night we played a version of Werewolves and Villages called SearchSpam created by SEOMoz and moderated by Rand Fishkin. Russ and I made it to the winners table with Matt Cutts. We were all whitehats and had to out the blackhats at the table before they killed us all off.
It's been a good conference--and I've learned that the Martingale strategy in Blackjack will eventually make you lose--so don't try it.
